By jailbreaking your device you will install an application called Cydia. This application will let you install third party applications, in other words application that were not accepted on the AppStore and apps I describe as Plugins or Tweaks.
Once jailbreaked a new icon called Cydia will appear on your screen.
To add a source (a server where developers can store data/used to unlock the phone for example) go to Manage, then touch Sources and finally add the sources's url by tapping the +.
To unlock your phone means that you will be able to use any sim card in your phone, in fact you will not be locked to your original mobile operator.



iPhone  4



This is a tutorial for iOs 4.0.1 & 4 firmwares:
  • With an activated iPhone, go to Jailbreakme.com
  • Please wait during the download & the installation, a popup will inform you that your device has now Cydia installed on its springboard !

This is a tutorial for 3.1.2 & 3.1.3 firmwares:
  • Download Boot­Loa­ders HERE, for firm­ware 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 HERE,
  • Download RedSn0w for Win­dows or Mac
  • Plug in the iPhone 2G
  • Execute RedSn0w 0.9.3 and select the firmware downloaded .ipsw
  • Check “Ins­tall Cydia” & “Unlock” if you want to unlock your iPhone
  • Select the 2 Boot­Loa­ders, and press next
  • Turn off the iPhone, and be prepared to put it into DFU Mode  (Follow on screen: Push 3 secs ON, then push 10secs ON+HOME, and finally only the HOME button the operating system recognizes it…)



Any iPod Touch
